I am originally from
North Carolina but have lived in in the beautiful Pacific Northwest since
the mid '80s. I live with my beautiful wife, Joyce,
near Portland, Oregon.
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a
degree in English Literature. I have postgraduate course work in both
education and business. However, I consider my substantial readings in comparative literature,
some science, religion, psychology, natural
medicine, and quite a lot of metaphysics important aspects of my education.
I make my living as a technical writer, specializing in documentation for
software toolkits and other writing for engineers as well as producing
manuals and Windows help files for various computer end-users.
I also write essays, poems and short stories and have published in several
periodicals (both print and online). I published two books in the Fall of
2003, Real
Gifts, a selection essays and stories, and
A Southern Line & Other Poems, a collection poetry written at
various stages in my life. Both volumes
are available for purchase on the Home Page as
e-books. I also have had several showings of my photographs.
